A portion of each ticket sale of the over 500 attendees at the Fall 2010 Benefit was donated by Joe's Bar to Friends of Fisher House – Illinois (FOFH-IL) to help support Illinois' first $5.7 Million Fisher House on Hines VA Hospital grounds.

One of Country Western's best-selling new male artists, Chris Young, performed October 15, 2010 at popular Joe's Bar on Weed Street at a benefit to support non-profit Friends of Fisher House – Illinois' (FOFH-IL) humanitarian assistance to military families facing medical crises.

"I am a huge supporter of the military and I love playing at Joe's. This combines two of my favorite things," according to Chris Young.

Ed Warm, Joe's Bar General Manager adds, "We are truly impressed by the amazing $5.7-million Fisher House for military families on Hines VA Hospital grounds. This 'home away from home' has provided free lodging to over 280 military families and veterans since its March opening. Our management is committed to helping ensure all military families receive this help with all of their everyday needs provided as they support their loved ones undergoing medical treatment at Hines VA polytrauma center."

According to volunteer, non-profit FOFH-IL President Betty Stamatis who previously coordinated the drive to raise construction funds, "We are proud and thrilled to have the support of Joe's Bar and Chris Young. Joe's Bar has generously donated a portion of ticket sales to our humanitarian mission.

"We are already planning our second Country Western in partnership with Joe's Bar. Watch for details in October 2011."

Anonymous Sponsors and on-site cash donors gave $8,131 to the benefit.
