Longtime Partner Chicagoland CARSTAR’s Successful
Holiday Drive, Raffle Benefiting Fisher House
Serves as Perfect Model for Other Companies to Follow
Via a well coordinated effort, 16 CARSTAR locations netted supplies
And $1,800 to support military families during medical crises
For five years, longtime Friends of Fisher House-Illinois partner CARSTAR has conducted successful holiday supply drives to benefit Hines VA Fisher House.
“We have come to depend on CARSTAR’s efforts and generosity to assist with the major meals, beverages, household supplies, gift card and gasoline expenditures the Fisher House and FOFH-IL encounter year-in and year-out,” says Betty Stamatis, FOFH-IL president.
According to CARSTAR All Line CARSTAR – Bolingbrook proprietor Teresa Kostick, “We planned two simultaneous events. The first involved counter signage requesting pantry, laundry, supply cupboard and guest donations. The other plan component was the raffle of a Chicago Black Hawks refrigerator embellished with the team colors and insignia. This raised $1,800.00
“We built awareness of our campaign on US99.5 with ad spots announcing the drive and raffle. We’re delighted our customers responded so positively to our cause-related drive. We know just how much this support means to the Fisher House and to the family guests. Our role as a Partner has been most gratifying,” Kostick concludes.
Marketing Manager Louie Santiago explains, “This counter sign at participating CARSTAR locations described exactly that kinds of supplies and provisions were needed. We outlined specific needs on the Fisher House Wish List under the following headers: For the Pantry, For the Laundry, For Supply Cupboard and For Our Guests. Donors selected what they wanted to contribute and brought the items in to the stores.”
