FOFH-IL Presentation at Marvelous ‘Evening of Music & Media’ Raises $ 12,158.94 for Mission
Over 2,000 attendees over two nights enjoyed uplifting professional quality performances by a choir and orchestra in addition to patriotic presentations honoring our veterans and their families who sacrifice so much for our freedom and safety.
FOFH-IL Board Officer Mary Vaughan assisted by Board Secretary Lisa Porcaro presented a video illustrating a wounded soldier’s battle to regain his mobility and his family’s experience at a Fisher House during his long recovery from debilitating wounds. This was followed by a description of the fully volunteer non-profit’s role in ensuring over 8,000 military families to date have benefitted from free accommodations, meals and quality-of-life outings.
Free-will offerings collected were donated to the Friends of Fisher House Illinois mission dedicated to financial, volunteer and emotional support for Illinois Hines VA Fisher House which provides support America’s military during their times of greatest need – during medical crises.
